I'm going to apologize right now for the terrible picture! These things keep falling out of a tree in the front yard that is NOT a pecan tree. I don't know what kind of tree it is. Can somebody (Mrs Alice) help identify it from this picture? I can get a better picture of one of these if you want!

Can you bust one open and see what's in there? I have a walnut tree and the walnuts fall all covered in a hard green shell like that. This is the first year y'all have seen them? I bet the tree's old enough to bear fruit now!! That's so cool, whatever it is!!
My book don't show this tree. Does the people you bought the house from know what was planted in your yard.Ther is a tree like this near where Mr. Rick used to live when he was young and they played pitch with them. He don't know the name, but I"ll keep looking.
