Over the past couple of days I've been catching up with an old friend, Jamie. It's been at least since the early 90s since we've been in contact and it's really great to be back in touch!

Tonight, we went down to the lake and I took a Hipstamatic picture of some of the Christmas lights across the lake. They're really beautiful!

We've finally gotten the curtains up! It's been a struggle but it's worth it.

I can't show too much or it'll give away the Christmas decorations, which aren't quite ready to be unveiled.

I took some artsy shots of some lights while I was working on a project.

I finally got the range finder lens off the front of my Fed with the assistance of a lens spanner borrowed at Coke's Camera Center in downtown Macon. I'm so glad we have a local camera shop. While we were in there I saw a SWEET old Graflex press camera in the display case. It looks like the camera in my Photo365 graphic. It takes 4x5 sheet film. As cool as that is, I don't think I'm ready for that!

Afterward we went to Joann and picked up some stuff. I got some ribbon to replace my broken shutter ribbon and we got some Christmas decorations. I took a few shots while we were there.

Caint have nuthin'! Last night one of the shutter ribbons broke on my Fed! It sucks! I'm trying to fix it myself, but I need a lens spanner. Hopefully Coke's will let me borrow theirs for a few minutes.

I also had some minor surgery today. I had a mole removed a couple of months ago and the biopsy came back with abnormal cells so I had to have the area around it removed today. It was strange smelling my flesh burning as the site was cauterized. It's not hurting too much now so it's back to work tomorrow!

I took a picture this morning while feeding the outside kitties. I was struck by the colors. Sometimes I can't believe what kinds of pictures an iPhone can take.

We went to Kroger this afternoon and I found a couple of things that I needed to take pictures of. First was this.

Then, we found a huge sock monkey.

We asked him what he was doing. He said "Just chillin'."

We have a kitten that needs a home. She's about 7 or 8 weeks old and pretty sweet.

Let me know if you'd like to take her.

We had our Macon County Photo Walk today. I'm exhausted, so I'm going to just post some pictures without much explanation. There will be more coming when I get my film developed.

While we were at Kohl's today we found this.

It's exactly the size and shape of an iPhone. The shades are size of app icons.

It's crazy how much of a cultural icon the iPhone has become!

We're back home! We had a fantastic time up there in Sky Valley but it is great to be back home. We missed the kitties terribly.

I took 2 rolls of 120mm film on the trip and 3 rolls of 35mm along with a lot on my iPhone and a few on our dSLR. I'll be sending off my film to be developed after the Macon County Photo Walk this weekend. The cameras were happy to get a workout.

Here are some foliage pictures.

I doctored these. They're of the sunrise this morning. It's absolutely breathtaking to see the light spread across the treetops. Ami said it looked like gold dust sprinkled on them.

Ami took these two and I played with them.

This was just off the porch at the house we stayed at.

We went to the Rabun Gap Nacoochee School Railroad Museum. These are the pictures from my iPhone I took there.

We went down to the small general store down the mountain. It was closed but we got some shots from outside.

We also went to an awesome antiques mall.

We also caught a sunset at a scenic overlook. It was funny, Ami and I were there by ourselves and as the sun set about 20 photographers showed up and started snapping!

Finally, today, on the way home, we found the most magical place in the world: Goats On The Roof. Ami and I love goats so this was like our Disney World.

We loved it up there and we're definitely going to go back!
