Tonight it finally rained after teasing us for a few days. It rained nice and hard for about 30 minutes and I took advantage of it out in the chairs on the porch. I was looking up where my head was naturally facing while it was laid back against the back of the chair and thought that'd be a cool shot. I took two long exposure shots with a tripod.
This one is two seconds.
This one is ten seconds.
I really enjoyed feeling a little of the rain mist in on me, the sound of the pounding rain, and the rumble of distant thunder.

Recently we got a security system from Frontpoint Security. It's very cool. We can control it over the web and from our iPhones. It's completely wireless and was really easy to install. The control panel is a GE Simon XT.
We can add on to it with things like carbon monoxide detectors or video cameras that can be monitored over the internet.
Bonus shot of Trudy in the window with Sleepy.

Tonight was a little crazy. Our across the street neighbor hit his house with his car, immediately got on his lawnmower, and headed for the lake. He didn't return until it was dark. Alcohol may have been involved.
We got these chairs from Home Depot and it was a process getting them home. I was busy with work all day so I wasn't able to get a picture until tonight so please excuse the darkness of it.
These will allow us to have better seats for the mayhem and foolishness that happens in our corner of the world.

Today is another kitten pictures day here on my blog. I hope you don't mind!
The back of her head. It's so cute I had to get a picture of it. It's about golf ball sized and that's just awesome.
"What?"
Kittens love biting feet and hands, even their own.
I took a few random shots while not looking at the screen and this is the only one that turned out.

I finally got to put the LCP through its paces today at Eagle Gun Range. These are the first shots I put through it so it's only going to get better.
That group is about 3 inches and was at 7 yards.

The longer I work at my job the more I realize what I don't know. One of the major areas that I really need to learn more about is telecommunications. I understand what happens once it hits the equipment I support (for the most part). I just don't have a good grasp of what happens before it gets there. I understand the basics but I really want to learn more. On the recommendations of a couple of of co-workers I picked this up. I think it's going to help.

I took some pictures with my iPhone of an angel that we have that usually greets visitors out front. She's in need of repair so she's in the back yard for now on our patio table. Some are the same shot with different settings.

Today we had a delivery from FedEx which was odd since it's a Saturday. It was our new Frontpoint security system. I installed it myself without any trouble. I'll give an honest review of it sometime soon.

Bea and Black Kitty were in "hover kitty mode" together in their room today and it was really cute.

Sorry about two kitty posts in a row but this one is too good to pass up. Trudy and Black Kitty were "spooning" under my desk today. Trudy looked up at me with a sleepy expression and I had to take this.
Her eyes are turning green. She's so pretty.

I haven't posted any Trudy for a few days so I guess it's time! Kittens=pictures.
Trudy and Black Kitty asleep under my desk while I was working.
Black Kitty left but Trudy stayed and napped a while longer.

Happy new gun day to me! I've been without a new gun day since 2007.
I've been needing a smaller, lighter carry gun so I bought a Ruger LCP. It comes in .380 ACP and is pretty much the perfect size and weight. The price was really good, too. A-Z Guns on Vineville Ave in Macon is awesome!
I got the stainless slide because it's going to be a pocket carry gun.
It's pretty small.
Desantis Nemesis holster. It's tacky on the outside so it'll stick to your pocket and you can get the gun out.
There will be a range report in the very near future!

We had a really good turn out for Neighborhood Watch tonight (it included us this time!) While we were there I had to take a picture of the stunning view from the huge picture window overlooking the lake.

It rained today so I decided to take some pictures of that. I love the rain. I love the way it smells, the way it sounds, the way it feels when you're hot and get rained on and it cools you down. I love they way it makes the world feel new again.
Long exposure to get a stream effect.
Fast exposure to get individual drops.
Gray skies are going to clear up, but probably not tomorrow. I don't mind if they stick around.

I took these in the dark with the light scoop. I was going for kind of a portrait thing. I know they were the bad guys, but Stormtroopers are still the coolest. One day I'll have my own Stormtrooper armor to wear, but who knows when that day will be.

The azaleas are finally blooming! Well, at least one of them is. The others have buds so I'm sure we'll have flowers on them soon.

Random shots today.
Looked outside this morning and the rooster was asleep under our bird feeder.
The hen struck a pose.
They seem to love our yard and I have no idea why.
A very small bee was pollinating honeysuckle.
And while I had the big zoom out I took a far-away-close-up of Trudy napping.

I'm getting excited!
My Uncle Phil and I are going to go out to The Meadows National Gun Club to shoot some clays. I can't wait! We went up there one time before and I really enjoyed it. Maybe we can make a habit of it! I'm going to have to buy my own shotgun soon.

After supper I felt like I was being stalked.
Then I knew I was being stalked.
Then I was attacked.

Today was Mother's day. We spent the day with family down in Oglethorpe. We had good food and good company. The steaks that Ami's brother Ricky cooked were OUT OF THIS WORLD! Even well done they were tender and juicy. Better than any steak I've ever had at a restaurant.
We saw both of our mamas and had a good day. We were worried about Trudy but she was OK.
I mostly took shots today with the Yashica. I don't need to make that a habit but it's fun. This is one of the only shots I took today with the Sony. It was one of the best smelling roses I've ever smelled. It came from one of Mrs Alice's roses. I don't think she has green thumbs, I think her whole arms are green!

And this?
Ami's strawberry trifle.
It's as good as it looks.
