It's started raining and I'm starting to doubt we'll get any snow. I got out before the clouds and rain hit to get my pictures. I was playing around with our Tamron 70-300 f/4-5.6 Di today.

It's a fun lens. It's what I take my moon pictures with and anything else long distance but it's not just a zoom lens.

It's also a macro lens that works very well.

We're going to add to our lenses this year by getting a prime lens and I can't wait to shoot with it.

Today was a pretty typical day. We just worked all day and had pizza for supper. It's still cold (for us anyway). I had to thaw out the shallow bowl that is a bird bath/cat water saucer with several pitchers of hot water but knowing the cats and birds have something to drink is well worth it. I'm going to get some more bird food and probably some suet when we get groceries.

Today's picture is of one of my new year's resolutions. I'm going to play my ukuleles more.

I swear I'm going to take pictures that aren't of the cats at some point. I just saw Black Kitty in the light and just loved the scene.

The smoky stuff is water vapor from our humidifier.

I walked into the room and Black Kitty thought I was going to get on to her. Our room used to be off limits when we weren't in there.

Today we dropped off our car and picked up the rental. We got an Altima, so not bad! We won't be driving it much anyway. I dislike driving rental cars anyway, too many people have been driving and abusing them.

And, while we were eating lunch I got my review copy of Make: Electronics! I'm so excited! I've been playing with my Arduino and that's teaching me quite a bit but this book should give me a good understanding of electronics by keeping it in terms that make sense to me and also encouraging me to break things because really failure is a good teacher.

We didn't do a lot today. We just slept late and watched TV for the most part. We went and got some Old Timer burgers from Chili's along with some chips and salsa which I've been demolishing. It was a good day.

Tomorrow we take the car to put it in the shop and pick up a rental. I'm hoping for something fuel efficient but since Monday is a busy day for them we might wind up with something that isn't.

My dad pulled a fast one on my mom for Christmas. After some setbacks I was able to go get her a laptop when she was thinking I was getting my dad a pistol. I think she was happy.

I showed her how to use it and even got her set up on Facebook! I'm hoping my dad will get into using the computer as I think it'll really enrich his life.

It's really hard to believe that it's 2010. 2009 flew past without slowing down even a little.

I decided last year that I'd like to do a photo blog-a-day this year not only to document the year but to improve my photography skills. I'll be posting pictures here daily and at least a short blog about the picture or something else that happened that day.

I took this today of the trees in our back yard. The colors and the bareness of the trees really means winter in Georgia to me.
