Wow, I can't believe my Photo365 is over. It's hard to believe it's been a whole year. I only messed up and left off a day when something bad happened, but I made up for it later. I'm not doing it again next year. It's been hard to think of something to take a picture of every single day. Sometimes inspiration just isn't there and you aren't feeling it. Sometimes the day just slips away from you or life just gets in the way. I'm not saying I won't do it again, but I am saying I'm at least taking this year off. I'll still be taking pictures and posting them here but it won't be every single day. If it works out the way I want it'll be about once a week.
I plan on using the creativity I won't be squeezing out on writing. I plan to submit some of my stories to publications this year and try to become published. I have a couple of flash fiction stories that are ready to go and I know where I'll be submitting one of them, I just hope it gets accepted.
Here's my final picture for the year. We have a tradition to eat snacky stuff on New Year's Eve and this was some good stuff.

Today marked the end of an era. The last place in the world that still processed Kodachrome stopped accepting rolls at noon. If you want to see why Kodachrome was a big deal, go here. I never shot a roll of Kodachrome but I wish I had.
Our trusty penguin humidifier broke the other day so we had to go get a new one. We went to Bed Bath and Beyond so we could use a coupon. They didn't have any penguin humidifiers so we had to get a different kind. This one kind of looks like a droid.

This is my 400th post on this blog! Photo365 has really filled this blog up. The project will be over on New Year's Eve and I'll write something about the experience then.
I Sleepy was so kicked back today I had to get a shot of her in her bed like that.
Also, I sent my Fed 2 off to be repaired yesterday and it should reach the repair shop tomorrow. I'm really excited to finally get to use it. I bought a sun shade and lens cap for it. It's got cloth shutters so you need to use a lens cap or the sun coming through the lens can burn a hole in them like a magnifying glass! So, don't point it at the sun and keep a lens cap on it when you aren't using it!

I apologize in advance for the quality of this shot. It's through the kitchen window and cropped a lot. I almost missed the very big opossum that had been drinking out of the water dish in the back yard being run off by none other than Wee Kitten. She's such a brave little girl, I wish someone would give her a loving home!

You can't keep this girl out of a box. I don't know why you'd want to anyway. I couldn't decide which picture I liked best so here's all I got of Black Kitty looking cute.

Tonight, Sleepy found a new friend in the space heater.
And the girls opened their present from Aunt Ninner.

This one is one day late since we got home late and went right to bed last night.
We had really awesome chili and hot dogs for Christmas Eve supper. It's a tradition!
Ami got a new friend.
I got the
best iPhone case ever. Thanks Mr Rick and Mrs Alice!
And I got this little guy. He's the coolest little robot ever! Thanks Ginger!
There was a flurry of activity getting stockings ready.
It was an awesome Christmas Eve and now for Christmas day!

Today I was exposed to a photographer that was simply amazing: Vivian Maier. She was an amazing street photographer that was completely unknown until someone found her negatives.
Tonight I took some pictures of our Christmas ornaments.
Ami's parents gave us this one. It's an ornament they've had since they first got married.

I told Ami tonight that she couldn't have this. She doesn't know what Santa is bringing her, so no new JB stuff.

Over the past couple of days I've been catching up with an old friend, Jamie. It's been at least since the early 90s since we've been in contact and it's really great to be back in touch!
Tonight, we went down to the lake and I took a Hipstamatic picture of some of the Christmas lights across the lake. They're really beautiful!

I had nearly forgotten about my PSP but when I saw it the other day I decided to break it out. I hadn't played it in months so I charged it up and made my hands sore playing Me and My Katamari. I really should mod it so I can play old game ROMs on it.
My PSP is extra cool since it's got Darth Vader on the back.

We had my birthday party today, and I got some awesome presents.
Preludes and Nocturnes, the first graphic novel in the Sandman series and
A Confederacy of Dunces. I've read the Sandman series several times but I haven't read
A Confederacy of Dunces and I'm really looking forward to it! Thanks Mr Rick, Mrs Alice, and Ginger!
We also went out riding around looking at Christmas lights and ridiculous houses. On a related note, I have begun liking Charleston cottages!

I have been sick for the past week. It got bad last night, and was bad this morning, but I'm feeling somewhat better now.
It's been a while since I did a Trudy portrait, so I got one tonight. She wasn't cooperating at first but I finally tricked her into it.

Today was my 36th birthday! Ami made it special as always.
She put this up:
Made me a beautiful card and got me a very warm scarf.
She made me breakfast.
Then we had Ming's for supper. I had fried dumplings.
It was a great birthday and it was spent with my favorite person in the world!

I love the way the light looks coming in the kitchen window in the morning, have I mentioned that before?

I picked up some Pliobond yesterday and thought that I'd get to replace the shutters in my Fed 2. No such luck though, since the shutters I bought are too wide! Yay! I'm thinking seriously about sending it off for a Clean, Lubricate, and Adjust which would also entail replacing the shutters with correct ones. It's a bit expensive to do that, but I'll get a camera back that's just like brand new.
I took a shot of the Pliobond. It's just sitting there, waiting to help me, but I can't use it just yet.

We put up the stars we made on the front porch tonight, finally. It's bitterly cold out there, getting down to 16 degrees so we froze while we put them up. Ami had already put garland around the front door earlier in the day so this was the last thing we were doing.
I also picked up some Pliobond for fixing the shutter on my Fed-2. I'm really looking forward to shooting with it. Maybe by my birthday?

I started going steady with the love of my life seventeen years ago tonight. I love you, Ami!
Tonight I started off scruffy and kind of out of focus.
I ended the night in focus and not scruffy!
We picked up some
Yogi Breathe Deep tea tonight. I can't believe our Kroger has it in the natural foods section. I'm going to see if it helps me with my current cough and breathing in general.
